personally, i think it’s really sort of cool to see other interpretations? but i know other people really don’t feel the same…
Would it bother you if someone did it without asking you first though? I think I come from a different kind of community - I long ago hung out in some professional artist communities and I know that if that sort of thing had happened (even on personal work) it would’ve been extremely frowned upon unless it was arranged by both artist and writer. So, when I see it here, it makes me cringe, big time. I wonder if it’s just more accepted in fandom? Or when someone is a bigger writer in a fandom?
