Socializing is as exhausting as giving blood. People assume we loners are...
– Anneli Rufus (via sweetlikethesixties)
Yes, absolutely this.
(via shockwaver)
Even when I feel extroverted, it takes WAY more energy to be with people than I think it does sometimes. I go home exhausted and wonder why am I so tired? And then I remember… people.

kinlochhold replied to your post: No lie, that Alistair art going around my dash…
In the event that the image in question is one that I posted (I didn’t see a lot of other activity on the Alistair tag today), please accept my sincere apologies. I didn’t mean to upset anyone. :-(
It’s okay, really it is. It’s not like there’s anyway to trigger warn for - hey that one guy...

No lie, that Alistair art going around my dash today where he looks like a 70s porn star, with the super furry chest? It looks just like my abusive ex-stepfather. Made worse by the knowledge that he used to model before he and my mom married. It makes it very disturbing to scroll past, that’s for sure. This TMI post brought to you by a very stressful day, and a sinus headache. *nods*

Get your...

maybethings asked: "Sten's sword is Asala, and Starfang is Starfang. Did you name your daggers, Zevran?" Natia asks as she fixes the leather straps on her armour. "I have so many, little Warden!" he exclaims. "And they all have names. Like this little one here." He draws a thin, vicious little blade from against his skin somewhere. "His name is Inquisition."...

minorearth asked: The seas near Rivain are very different than the sea Aveline crossed to get to Kirkwall. The air is warmer, the smells sharper. "So this is where you come from," she says, watching the approaching city. "It's who I am, big girl," Isabela corrects, slinging an arm around her shoulder. "Are you ready for it?" Aveline just raises an eyebrow and smiles. At this point...
Work this afternoon was kind of horrible, I still have a stupid cold, and I have to teach a full class tonight that no one called me about. I expect there will be some sort of happy-making spam or something when I get home tonight.
Distractions in the form of ask box questions, ficlets, love, and whatnot is very, very welcome.

Legend movie spam incoming.
I’ve mentioned I like movie villains, right? Legend is probably why.
And I could use a little happy-making spam.

golden-notebook:
In Women Who Run With the Wolves by Jungian psychoanalyst and folklore expert Clarissa Pinkola Estes, the author discusses how wolves in stories are often metaphors for our id; our instinctive drives that reflect our intuitions below the conscious level. They’re a Jungian archetype of roving, of knowing-below-consciousness:
“A healthy woman is much like a wolf: robust,...
